Sonique

Sonique — born Sonia Clarke — is a British singer, DJ, and producer whose powerful vocals and genre-blending style made her a defining voice in early 2000s dance music. Her breakout hit “It Feels So Good” topped the UK Singles Chart for three consecutive weeks in 2000, became the third-best-selling single of the year, and earned her a BRIT Award for Best British Female Solo Artist.

Her follow-up single “Sky” also reached #2 in the UK and showcased her ability to fuse emotive lyrics with euphoric beats. Sonique’s sound blends dance-pop, Eurodance, and house, with tracks like “I Put a Spell on You” and “Alive” adding depth to her catalog. She’s remixed and collaborated with artists like Daft Punk, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, and The Police, and her remix of No Doubt’s “Hella Good” won her a Grammy Award in 2003.

Her debut album Hear My Cry went Platinum in the UK, and she’s continued to release music and perform globally, including recent appearances at Glastonbury and a sold-out show at Royal Festival Hall in 2024. Sonique’s long-running radio show and podcast Release Yourself reaches over 15 million listeners worldwide, making her not just a performer, but a tastemaker in the dance music scene.
