Sash!

SASH! is one of Germany’s most successful dance music acts, fronted by Sascha Lappessen and supported by producers Ralf Kappmeier and Thomas “Alisson” Lüdke. Hailing from Viersen near Mönchengladbach, SASH! defied expectations by launching a global career from the heart of the Niederrhein — selling over 22 million records and earning more than 65 gold and platinum awards worldwide.

The project began in 1994 with “Careca – Indian Rave”, but the real breakthrough came in 1996 with “Encore Une Fois”, a genre-blending anthem that fused progressive house, trance, and pop. It reached #2 in the UK Singles Chart and became a club classic across Europe. From there, SASH! delivered a string of hits including:

  • “Ecuador” (feat. Adrian Rodriguez)
  • “Stay” (feat. La Trec)
  • “La Primavera”, “Mysterious Times” (feat. Tina Cousins)
  • “Move Mania”, “Colour the World” (feat. Dr. Alban)
  • “Adelante”, “Just Around the Hill”, “With My Own Eyes”
  • And later tracks like “Raindrops”, “Mirror Mirror”, and “Rock My Body” (with R3HAB & INNA)

SASH! collaborated with a wide range of vocalists — from Boy George and Sarah Brightman to Shannon and Tina Cousins — and released songs in multiple languages including Spanish, French, Italian, and African dialects. His music topped charts not only in Europe, but also in the USA, New Zealand, Russia, Australia, South Africa, and Japan.

Remix requests came from icons like Jean Michel Jarre, 2 Unlimited, Todd Terry, OMD, and Kylie Minogue, and his Greatest Hits album earned Platinum status in the UK.

Despite global fame, Sascha Lappessen remains grounded — preferring quiet life in Viersen over the glitz of London or Monte Carlo. With new singles dropping in 2019 and beyond, SASH! continues to light up dance floors around the world.
