Freemasons

Freemasons — the powerhouse duo of Russell Small and James Wiltshire — emerged in 2004 with a studio partnership that quickly became one of the most celebrated in dance music.

• Their breakout hit “Love On My Mind” took over a year to chart — but once it did, it conquered clubs worldwide and launched their remixing career. They became known as Grammy-nominated remixers with acclaimed edits for Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, Shakira, Faith Evans, Kylie, and Jamiroquai.

• Original tracks like “Rain Down Love” and “Uninvited” followed — cementing their status as one of the hottest dance acts of the mid-2000s. Their remixes of Beyoncé’s B-Day album tracks were used as lead radio edits across Europe.

• Their remix of Kelly Rowland’s “Work”, Kylie’s “The One”, and Whitney Houston’s “Million Dollar Bill” became legendary — blending soulful vocals with club-ready production. They were the go-to remixers for major pop and R&B artists.

• Freemasons released two Shakedown mix albums and their own album “Unmixed” — scoring six consecutive hits, including “Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer)” with Sophie Ellis-Bextor. Their success led to global bookings, including headlining Mardi Gras and every major Pride festival in the UK and North America.

• In 2011, they took a break to rebuild their studio and evolve their sound — adapting to changes in dance music and production technology. They returned with fresh tracks like “Bring It Back”, “Dirty Organ”, and “Tears”, plus a deeper project under the Pegasus Branding.

• Their remix career reignited with chart-topping edits for John Newman, Depeche Mode, London Grammar, and Hurts — proving their staying power. They announced Shakedown 3 as a triple CD: part mix album, part artist album — the best of both worlds.
